Default 71 Buick 350 swap

How much trouble to swap 71 Buick 350 into my 66 Tempest.....any thoughts?

Swaps like this are not a big deal since GM put that engine in that frame. Just get the parts needed from a Buick guy.

Keep in mind the frame side mounts for the 350 are the same as the V6 Buick but the pads for the 400-455 are different.

Distributor in the front instead of back


Same bell pattern

Starter on opposite side of Pontiac V8

Good engine, lightest smallest small block of the era. Excellent deep skirt block. Modern combustion chambers with plug bias to exhaust valve.

oiling system weak point in the oil pump which is part of the soft aluminum front cover, but easy to fix by changing covers.
