here are a couple things to look for to distinguish the difference:

1965: no holes on middle lip up front for arrow emblem because on 65 it was located on the "T" bar, also there are studs sticking out of the back on each side to mount hood to hinges.

1966: had arrow emblem on the nose of the hood so there will be 2 holes present for this emblem (unless filled in by previous owner)
