Well, I didn't do too much to the car this week. Work is kicking my old butt. I did get the ribbon harness installed(Thanks, Bigpop) and got the pigtails fixed on my back-up lamps as well as good lenses and lens gaskets(Thanks, Tim John).I also bought a bumper jack at the Pigeon Forge show.
I worked two hours and spent $179.41 on parts so here are the latest totals:

Labor @ 375 1/2 hours..............$7,510.00
Parts ....................................$7,089.57
Outside Labor .........................$6,156.00
Gifts ........................................$716.52

You mean I have to cover up my beautiful ribbon harness with a carpet?! I thought I would run it on top of the carpet. In fact, I may just leave the carpet out so as not to spoil the view. Heck, I may just leave the convertible top off.

I didn't even get out to the shop last week. I have been working but, the money has gone to tires for my truck and my wife's SUV. I also have to fork over about $350.00 for car tags in the next week or two.
The builder I work for has two houses to start. However, I won't get to do my part until around February or March of next year!
So, unless I win the lottery, the car will not see much headway for awhile. Man, this economy SUCKS!!!

I hope to get all the small stuff done and, maybe, by then I'll be in one of the new jobs. I have faith that the car will get finished. But, you know He can't be rushed.

I did a little to the car this week. I trailered it to my friend's alignment shop and had the front end lined up and checked out. Everything is OK. I also worked on the turn signal switch. The screw that holds the turn signal lever was broken off in the switch, so, I took the switch out to work on it. It takes an 8-32 X 5/8" screw so I figured I'd run out to Lowe's and pick up a pack. They had 1/2" and 3/4". I bought the 3/4" and ground it down to 5/8".
I posted a thread on here about it. That's when a fellow PYer reminded me of the springs in the housing! So, I eneded up pulling the whole steering column out of the car to work on it. I needed to do that anyway because I forgot to install the lower column seal when I first put the steering column back in.
I also ordered some bumper bracket washers from AMK but they have not arrived yet. I bought the bolts from a local shop and spent $14.30 on them The front end work ran me $65.00
I worked on the car for 3 1/2 hours. Here are the latest totals.

Man, I splurged this week! I spent $41.00 on parts!! I got the grip washers and clipped washers for the bumper brackets. Bought them from AMK Products. Oh well, I have a birthday coming up soon and I hope to increase the gift column amount.
I took the oil pressure/water temp gauges out of my instrument cluster and hooked them up to the wiring harness. I ran a seperate ground from the gauges to the dash and the oil pressure gauge worked the first time. I had to remove and reinstall the temp sending unit wireand then the temp gauge worked.
I drove the car around the block two times and the temp needle rose almost to the first line on the gauge. I let the car idle but it never did get hot enough to open the thermostat.
Anyway, I worked one hour and spent $41.00 so here are the new totals.

Got ya beat on parts for the week. I just spent 302.00 on parts I've needed for awhile but put off getting. And that's not counting the steering wheel I'm getting from you.

BTW... how in hell do you get the anyone to give you "gift" parts? I throw out all kinds of hints but they fall on deaf ears. Not even a thing for my Goat at Christmas for the past 2 years. And no, I'm not about to buy any of them hearing aides either. They can stay just as deaf as they are dumb. LOL Hmmmmm, maybe it's because I won't let them touch it unless the women are Totally Nude. Yeah, I've got a sign for the dash that really says that.
