I just use an old 2 lead trailer light.Always loose those small or break the small lights.......JB.

Thanks silver, First thing i done already,Battery checked good and i have alt. checked, good also, this has been going on for quite some time, just trying to nip this thing. I usually just remove terminals every nite or if car sits for any length of time. Thanks for your input

Just had batt. and alt. checked, turned out good, just bought 12 volt lite, cool thing to have, i does lite up when positive term. is connected and neg. dissconnected with wire to neg,post and then to term. Drs. closed when checking, wondering my horns are not bolted in the front yet and wires dissconnected and just lying out, could this do it??

Pete,you where right on the money!! fuse on my meter was indeed blown, Radio shack informs me that my meter may not be big enough to handle a car batterys amps?? i have a 200m on meter and as small as 2 m, im doing some checking and learning, Ill keep everyone abreast on what i find.

ok, i started from the top of fuse box, and went down, the last fuse states stop and dome lite and there,s my trouble area, i pulled the fuse out and checked at batt. and no lite so now there,s the trouble area.

I didn't spend much time looking, but here's a wiring diagram:

On first glance, power goes from the fuse to the stoplight switch, and the fuse to the dome light. Try unhooking both of those and see what happens. You need to follow the circuit in the diagram and see what makes sense to disconnect.

Default Check bulbs

I am glad the test light worked out for you. Easiest way I know to check em.

A bad bulb can be the culprit by the broken filament grounding to the base on the inside. Good luck.

An internally grounded lamp would blow the fuse, not cause a draw on the battery. It is a tricky thing to figure out, though.
