Weren't these originally anodized aluminum? If you polished/removed the anodize finish they would likely turn dull in short time unless you re-anodize them?

They were anodized. I'm pretty sure they were stainless for '73.

No Stainless, all 2nd gen Firebirds and Camaros use the same reveal moldings ( some are painted black). They are anodized aluminum they can be repolished and reanodized. Be carful they do ropop these moldings. I see NOS on Ebay often but BIG$$$$$

Has anyone used the reproduction moldings? And how did they fit?

The first gens used stainless window trim. Second gens were anodized aluminum.

I saw one set of repro trims fitted...they didn't line up as nicely around the top corners of the screen as originals.....was only a little bit out, but the owner wasn't too happy about it.

I used a set of NOS on my last resto. This was 10 years ago, and at that time they were still available from GM... so not technically NOS. Anyway, the fit of several of the pieces was not good, and they required a LOT of gentle hand bending (one slip and you get a kink, and it's over...).
