Default BUFFING OUT THE CAR

I JUST PAINTED A 65 GTO, AND WANTED TO KNOW IF I SHOULD BUFF IT OUT BEFORE THE WINTER.
I CAN ONLY DO IT OUTSIDE, THE GARAGE IS TO SMALL.
I'M THINKING OF COVERING IT TILL THE SPRING, GOOD IDEA?
THANKS

I would wait until spring time and the car becomes uncovered. Usually when you cover the car you will get some kind of scratches on the paint. Those scratches will be removed once you buff. Plus the paint will be fully cured and hard by spring time. You only have so much paint use it wisely.

I do not think covering the car is a good idea. The paint needs to breathe and will become cloudy if you cover it. I was told this when I painted my car a few years ago. It would really suck to have that happen to you. It may depend on the type of paint you use as well.

Covering will not cause a problem if you use a breathable cover, or leave the cover with enough air space above your sub straight to breathe. You want the VOCs to escape, therefore no wax for 30 days, after that you can cover it anyway you want.

If it were me, I would wet sand it down to the 1500-2000 grit stage and let it sit UNCOVERED for at least 30 days. This accomplishes two things - the sanded paint/clear can "breathe" and allow the solvents to cure out, and you won't have to sand a rock-hard surface later. It will never be as easy to sand as it was yesterday.

I would wet sand and polish it. But as what has already been said...no wax

The sanding scratches will buff out easier now than after the paint has cured for several months.
