Question Long Branch Manifolds

Do long branch RA manifolds fit and work in a 71 Bonneville?

Just curious as I think about a possible exhaust for a project.

they probably will but you will need an adapter for your oil filter housing

I tooka pair off of a '68 Grand Prix and put them on my '68 Catalina. They shoudl work with your '71. And you wil need the oil filter adapter to make it work. Also my car had a hot start problem with the header so close to the starter. I tried a heat shield but it didn't work. I finally used a remote solenoid (like FoMoCo vehicles) and a new starter and the probem went away. I also increased the size of the wire from the solenoid to the starter one size.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies. That is pretty much what I thought. Just curious as to what others had done as I was sure I wasn't the first to consider this option.

I am not sure how the frame is different on the 71 up B bodies. They used them on up to 68 on the B body but the frames did change in 71. Pat

I know this is an older thread, but I wouldn't think they'd work on a '71. From '71 to '76 the steering box is in front of the axle. My understanding of the long branch manifolds is they're designed to work on cars with the steering behind the front axle and the GTO style Ram Air manifolds are for cars with the steering in the front.
