thats kinda funny if the buckets and floor shift are what made it lol, kinda a crappy reason to add a nameplate
i was actually considering putting a bench seat in mine when i do the manual trans swap since i'm not building for show or go right now..it is being built for daily driver duty and a bench would be more convenient

Not 100% sure on the floor shift and buckets, but fairly certain that in 1970 the Lemans Sport received the GTO interior with comfort weave, GTO door panels, and stainless rimmed tail lights.

Base Lemans' received an overall cheaper interior and did not have the stainless trim on the tail light lenses.

I am sure there are many more, but those come immediately to mind. -Doug

Lemans Sport gave you all the nice exterior trim (ie Wheel lip moldings est)
And nice interior appointments( ie nice carpet and deluxe seat interior) .
It did give you bucket seats but that's it, sorry Ron, NO floor shift console.
You had to order floor shift console.
I have seen many Lemans Sports with bucket seats column shift.
Looks a little starnge with 2 buckets seats and nothing in between.

Just that I had never seen one without a console. Still learning! Thanks, Guys. Ron

i was 4th owner of mine, and the only thing i knew that was changed was the dash. it had the "pontiac" in the right corner which i believe was a 72 only deal, that and the blower motor switch for a 71 by application didnt fit and a 72 switch did. so i dont know if the whole thing, speedo cluster included got swapped, or just the dash pad and heater control.

mine was a fire breathing 350 2bbl, thm350, buckets with comfortweave, door panels were, as i can tell now lemans style, IIRC stainless on the tail light lenses, WW mouldings, "door ding guards" down the center of the body line, column shift with tilt, no console, AC, standand lemans front end ( not endura ). it did not have a rear speaker, only the upper dash one.

Default LeMans Sport Sedan/Post

I saw a 70 or 71 LeMans Sport Sedan/Post car for sale a little while ago I had not ever seen one before. I also have a bench seat out of a 1970 LeMans Sport 4dr it has the Comfortweave inserts and foldown armrest but the rear of the seat is fixed (it does not fold foward).

Did some of the 72 Sports come with the GTO style hood, nose and fenders? I am looking at a 72 Sport convertible and it has the standard Lemans front end but when I was trying to find pictures online it seemed most of the ones I ran across had the GTO stuff on them.

TECH@BG -
I have a 72 LeMans Sport convertible; it has a hard nose. The GTO nose was a $41 option that could be had on the LeMans.

Thanks, what about the scooped hood and louvered fenders as the ones I saw with the enduro nose also had these as well but were Sports?

The one I am looking at has had the complete front end swapped and the guy said he had the orig hood in the basement but it was a flat hood as well. It is a hard nose as it sits now.

The scooped hood and fenders w/vents were part of the T41 package that cost $41. It is also referred to as the endura front end.

You could get that on a 72 or 71 LeMans but it was standard on the GTO

If you wanted a GTO convertible in '72 that was basically the only way you were going to get the look even though it would be a LeMans

In '71 when you got the T41 package, it came w/the LeMans Sport metal louvers on the front fenders. There were 7 on each side going up and down at a slight angle. '72 replaced these w/fender vents.

I have a '72 Hardtop w/the T41 option and just added a 72 Convt w/the T41 option. I love the way they look.

The front sheet metal isn't interchangeable between the Chrome bumper cars and endura cars

Parted out a '71 LeMans 4 dr ht years ago. Probably 20 or so. Bench seat with fold down arm rest and column shift. Since it was a 4 dr it was not a split back seat.

Still got the entire front clip. Just gotta get it shipped home.

Thanks, that clears it up a little more . I like the look of those parts as well but looking around on some of the sites it looks like it would be real expensive to change the front end over unless you ran across a parts car.

Agree on the high cost to change over. If I remember, you also need the specific core support. If you could find one wrecked in the rear, you might be able to do it.

I think I remember seeing that listed in somebodys auction for the nose piece on ebay when I was trying to get an idea on costs. Seems like the fenders are the hardest to find if you dont mind using a glass hood but if I get the car guess I'll leave it as a hard bumper car for the time being.
