Still need to decide if the stripe will start at the bumper as shown in the rendering or to fade it into the area between the scoops. Also if the wheels will stay as is or maybe to paint the centers to match the stripe and the grills???

Curt, I think everything looks sweet. But I would change the boot to white, top is ok black but the boot should match the interior., Just my .02
I love the "Pro touring" look, Everything I do (little by little) will give a Pro touring look. The stance and wheels are next future plans.

Great job. Love the color too. What color is that, btw?
I also cast my vote for the white top.

There will be that eggshell finish, black or dark dark gray stripe (trimed with a thin metallic silver transition stripe) on the deck lid to match the hood. A white top or boot would probably clash with this.
I like black interiors but with the Florida sun the parchment just seemed to make more sense. It's a custom color. We did 5 sprayouts and ended up combining two colors. Then I decided to go from tri-stage to a basecoat clearcoat so touchups would not be such a bitch. The regional PPG expert took our tristage custom sample and formulated a two stage to match it. He came really close. It lost some of the depth from the tri-stage but I was concerned that the tri-stage might look a little too "bass-boaty" because it was actually on the edge of being too metallic. One color we started with was Lexus Noble Spinal Metallic however in the shade it took on a brownish tone. Other burgandys seemed to take on a purplish tone or even orange. With this one it retains its red in most all lighting.

Great to see it coming along!
"Normally" I would agree with the boot colour matching the interior. But you car will be far from normal! Looking at the car in the concept pic he did for you, the black boot looks right. If the colour can be kept similar to the dash and hood stripe, I think it will tie it together nicely. It would be better to fill the rear wheel well a little more, maybe 18's will do it. What about keeping the 17's and dropping the rear a little more instead? I would hold onto the rims until she's closer to completion. Very nice. |

Colour is WOW nice choice!!!
i also have a black boot on parchment ... the white boot is gets discolored and just does not look right on a brightly coloured car. Now dont scratch the paint during assembly watch out for the back bar install thats where i chipped mine .Picture when finished please!!!!

yeah, after it gets put back together and I put a few miles on it to let it settle I'll work on dialing in the stance. I installed the Speedtech tubular upper control arms and may go with coilovers which will make the front ride height easy to adjust.
Also took some weight off the front of the car so maybe the rear will squat some more once the bumper gets reinstalled. Also thinking about moving the battery to the trunk. one thing at a time....

I placed the largest battery box in and it all sits under the hood, used a 67 GTO battery holder to hold box then went stainless steel. i have had batteries in the boot ( trunk ) before leak and move around ...well having fun with the car in a motorama the battery came loose and you can guess the rest. |
