Well, I spent 4 hours cleaning and buffing various parts. I also put the majority of the guts back in the doors.
I need one vent window and some channel felt to complete the door assembly.Hope to get that stuff soon.

Hi Phil and all other contributors, regular or otherwise. Happy New Year to each.

First, congrats Phil on perservering so long on your unit. Great to hear you got lots of needed stuff, and the cash, for Xmas. I just joined the forum mid-November and did have one exchange with you previously ( '66 vert also but partial restore completion only - no body off). But I've been an occassional lurker only for the last month due to another non-car priority demanding my time. But now that I can resume on my unit I have a pics request if I may a little further down.

Second want to apologize to all other members with whom I exchanged posts and PM's for about 3 weeks in November & early Dec. attempting to get rear armrest support panels. But with whom I didn't finalize exchanges. To those guys I still haven't filled that need, am leaning toward acquiring new but regardless want to say I do appreciate your efforts to help me. Hopefully I can be more responsive going forward.

Back to my request. I'm looking for pics and/or verbal description of:

1) how the vert top motor is mounted / shrouded behind the rear seat back ( mine
came loose with other parts and has 4 cushion grommets, but only 3 holes in the
deck;

2) how the windshield frame top mates to the bow header. I think my bow header is
complete other than need for a tacking strip, but can't find a good image of the
windshield frame top in either the restoration or Fisher Body manuals.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Cactus,
1) Sounds like you have a 67-up power top motor. 66 had three pads. The motor is covered by a cardboard shroud.
2) the windshield top is chrome. There is a wide piece and two end pieces. There are also two sunvisor support brackets that attach to the top frame. These brackets have a recess in them that the convertible top latches to.
I don't have mine installed at this moment. I could lay it out and take a picture if you still need it. Or you could post these requests in a seperate thread and probably get more responses.

Phil, thanks for your prompt reply. Not surprised to hear the motor may be a 67-up.
I think I have all windshield top chrome pieces already so don't worry about the pics for now. If I find I don't I'll take your suggestion and post my request in a separate thread. Apologies if my request was a hijack.

Haven't done anything worth taking pictures of. I am not a fan of cold weather and it is not supposed to get out of the 40s for at least a week. We may even get snow here Thursday night!
I am waiting on some parts that are on back order then I can put my doors back together.
I will post some pics when I get the doors and front clip back on...again! I took it off so my body man could jam everything.

Just the jams and such. I have to go see my body man. He owes me for some work I did on his house. I will have to see how far that will go toward final paint. I am going to see him Thursday unless something comes up

Well, we didn't get any snow but it has been insanely cold down here for over a week now. And, temps are not to get back into the 60's until next Saturday!
I settled up with my body man for the work on his house and got 24 shop hours on the books. That should get me close to paint.
I am going to wait until the weather warms up before I even think about getting any paint work done.
I bought $69.00 worth of parts last week and I am still waiting on some of my Christmas back order to get here.

Well, I am still waiting on my parts and am at a standstill until I get them. I called the vendor and was told one to two weeks more.
Also, I have a few small jobs to start Monday. Hopefully, I will get a weeks work in.

Hey Guys,
Just a note to say I probably won't be posting Sunday. I will most likely be heading to Lexington, Ky tomorrow and won't be back until Monday or Tuesday. My brother had a brain aneurysm and is in serious condition.
I would have left today but my wife is out of town and won't be back in until late tonight.

He still has some minor body work to finish. I wowuld like to think that he will give the car a final sanding before paint.

Doing some of the wet sanding yourself(if you want to)could save you $$$.Thats what I have been doing with my hood,deck lid,doors and the rest of the car when we finish the 1/4.It's really time consuming,I don't mind though.Just a thought Phil
