My daughters first car was a white 78' Chevette. These were built as throw away Sht boxes,but I will say by todays standards this is one of the easiest cars I've ever worked on. You could tear the car apart and put it back together in an afternoon with a few hand tools.
WAY overpriced at $3800 though. I'd say $1200 MAX. We got ours for $200,but it was a WI rustbucket.

All kidding aside (exept for the hood scoop of course) that is 1 loaded Tempest, A/C, Powere Steering and Power Brakes. And if it is a 67 4-door Sprint Tempest (all I can tell by the bad pic's is that it has a 4bbl air cleaner and lid.) That is a Very Rare Car, and that would make it the 3rd 4-door sprint I have seen, Fred Simmonds 67 4-door Lemans, a very Rusty 66 Lemans I parted out 20 years ago, and this 67 Tempest.

That would mean a lot to many people if it didn't have 2 too many doors. Lots of very rare cars out there not worth significant money. That's not to say someone won't buy this one for too much. If it had 2 doors I'd own it today. Maybe Fred needs a hood scoop?

I agree, it is just a bit overpriced, if solid, running, and a real sprint I would say it is a $1500 to $2500 car max. $7000 is just a bit unrealistic!!!!!!! Maybe if it was a low Milage Surviver, MAAAAYYYYYYBBBBBBEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

That car would be a real hoot to drive around town with REALLY loud muffler, just to get the look on people's faces at the stoplights... Just rev it up and look at them witcha cheap sunglasses on and a dead serious look on yo' face.
Actually, it's a real nice car without the scoop.

It's a four door, six cylinder. The reason it might be rare is because no one wanted a four door, six banger with a bench seat in 1967. If you showed up at a stop light back in the day with this car, especially with that stupid looking scoop and ugly mags, you'd get laughed off the street. I'm not saying a Pontiac six is bad; Nor am I saying a four door is the worst; A bench seat can have it's merits too. But be honest, if you were buying a new Pontiac in 1967, would you order a four door, six cylinder with a bench, or a two door v-8 with bucket seats and a center console? Rare does not always equal valuable or desirable.
All that aside, in present day, I cannot see how it could be worth $7k under any circumstances. I would consider buying it for $2500 tops, if it were clean and original. In its present condition, he should take a zero off, $1500 tops. |

My curiosity got the best of me and I called Nutsy about the '60 Wagon. There are new pics. He bought it with the 4 wheel drive chassis under it. It was supposed to have a 470 Cad engine in it with a automatic trans and divorced transfer case but the engine was gone. The car is pretty clean. If anyone calls him he is quite a talker! |
