I was just wondering if anyone can do a quick translation of the tag...I don't have a title for the Gold car but I've just found a photo of the firewall tag.

The is the car with a wrecked rear fender but it might now be in better condition that my original Maroon car..I've attached some photos.

I think the tag says:

Style. 04D - April, 4th week
Body: 65 6267 (but it looks like 6239 in the photo, but that's a 4dr H/T!)
Body: BT - Arlington Texas
Trim: 270-2 - don't know, but the car has a cream/parchment interior
Paint: T2A - T is Gold, not sure what 2A is?

Then I don't know what the 1SS and C90 means but hopefully someone can help.

But as I'm not Swiss...I'm English and just happen to have been living here in Switzerland for a few years...so don't worry I'll find a way of dealing with him, but not until after I pick the cars up as I don't want them to vanish in to thin air...mind you, they may well have rusted away by now anyway

My God!! this body dude should be get his nuts in a vice, i can't believe he let a convertible sit like that without so much as a tarp over the interior, when i worked in the auto paint industry about 1 in 100 shop owners were honest, and that WAS in Oklahoma.
Be carefull with a guy this stupid, he may have a bill for outside storage fees or something, maybe a couple of thousand worth, he has to know you're pissed and might be confiscating stuff or put some type of lein on the cars, come fully loaded.

It's as much my fault as his, I should have bought tarps for them...I didn't, I should have insisted it went indoors and out of the field...but I didn't.

Yes he should have covered it up and not stuck it out to rot in the elements after sandblasting it and putting it in etch primer...but it's no use complaining about it now...what's done is done.

I spoke with the guys over there last night and the cars are still there, they are going to take a few new photos and email them to me...so we shall see how far gone there are.

They never stopped me taking the cars away and there is no question of outstanding storage bills...it's my own fault for not dealing with it sooner.

Looking back now I don't know why I didn't do anything about it years ago...I could have pulled them out of there, found storage or got someone to restore them for me over a couple of years...but I didn't! I guess it was easier not to think about them as they were thousands of miles away quietly rotting away.

Hopefully now though I can get the cars out of there and either deal with or parted out and then find myself another 65 Bonneville to drive.

So I should have fresh photos of the rusty remains by Friday.
I spoke with the guys from Oklahoma today regarding taking some photos for me of the 2 cars, and also that I might be over to visit just after Easter...I was told they will be moving premises at Easter...only 10 miles down the road.
So I thought now might be an ideal time for me to move the cars rather than let them take them to a new location. I can move them to new storage and then go and look at them to see what to do with them next.

That's probably a wise idea to take posession of them. They may disappear in the move if you don't.

They may move and just leave the cars abandoned leaving the owner to tow them off to the crusher so get it done real soon.

I hope not...but that's why I'm going over to see them before Easter now...or find some storage and tow the cars there before they move workshops.

Some good news at last...the cars will be picked up sometime next week and transported to Ohio, where Ron at www.clearcreekrestorations.com has kindly offered me some storage space until I can come over in a few weeks to assess the damage...or what's left of the the two cars.

Okay, no joy on the photos from the boys in Oklahoma, even though they say the photos were taken last week I've not had an email yet...plus I also asked him if he know of a transport company that could pick up both cars from Oklahoma and ship them to Ron's place in Ohio...but I've heard nothing as yet.

So, as I'd like to get those cars moved sooner rather than later...can anyone out there suggest a company that might like to pick up 2 large non running cars and transport them to Ohio...and that hopefully take credit cards or even paypal?

I know a guy near me in Pittsburgh that hauls all kinds of stuff. I can see if he is interested in a trip like that. I believe he has a 2 car trailer. I'll check.

At the very least, I would start a thread in Members Helping Members and request that someone local go and get pics for you and also request transport help.
