from what?
In mortar joints? on used brick? on floors?

or?

all I know is from used bricks , you just knock it off with a hammer holding the brick in one hand...

if on stone/tile floors you can chisel it off, but dep,. on what its on...

you need to describe more.

Go buy yourself a Dremel... If you don't have one. Dremel makes a grout bit for grout removal...

It will save you a lot of time, but I warn you......

You better wear a dust mask

Try a tool like this. It attaches to a Dremel tool.

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...0070921x00003a

Or this blade that you can put on your grinder.

http://www.amazon.com/Fein-635021180.../dp/B0000223PL

X2 on the dust mask

That is not a blade for a grinder,it is for a Fein multitool which vibrates.
Dremel does make a multitool now which is much less expensive than the Fein, the multitool would probably work better than the rotary tool.
If you do go with the rotary tool, get quite a few bits.

No problem,I just wouldn't want him to get that blade and put it on a grinder.

That will work but be carefull that the grinder doesn't get away from you and scar the tile.
If you have someone to help you,get them to hold a vacuum next to the grinder to suck up most of the dust.
If you don't do that,it will get so dusty that you will have trouble seeing.
Make sureyou cover everything.
