I recently replaced the aftermarket carb with a Quadrajet on my 70 GTO. After realizing the carb lacked a throttle linkage bracket, I ordered it along with a fuel line from PY. So, I put the bracket on and when I attempt to attach the throttle cable it's not long enough. Is there an adjustment I am not seeing or do I just have the wrong cable? Here are some pics. Thanks.

The factory cable you're using is designed for use with a factory intake and carb. Your aftermarket intake locates the throttle cable bracket too far away from the carb mounting pad......for the cable to reach.

You can order the Edelbrock P/N 8015 adapter for your manifold if you like, or else maybe you have enough room to slot the bracket mounting holes so you can slide the bracket forward some....

Thank you! That settles it. I am putting the factory intake on. I couldn't figure out how to mount the divorced choke anyway.

thats such a nuisance on the edelbrocks....

had you kept it anyway and got the throttle cable bracket adaptor you would've been in store for some cutting and bending of your factory throttle cable bracket.

I bought the car with the edelbrock on it, but fortunately I found a stock intake locally. I really had no desire to modify the bracket.

q-Jet cable issues. It mounts to the back carburetor studs and holds your cable position.

Thanks Big Injun for the direction to www.precisionspecialists.com . We have a couple of solutions for that problem. 1st of all we build a patent pending Q-Jet bracket that clamps the Pontiac cable firmly in place with adjustability in any direction. 2nd, we actually build a mount bridge for our Pontiac cable bracket just for the the Edelbrock Performer and Performer RPM intakes.
