Carguy66car,
My '71 T-37 had dark green wheels. Not black.

Couple of Gorgeous LeMans there! I'm trying to remember if I've seen that Lucy Blue 71 on here before. Is it a 455 HO T41 Lemans vert with Vinyl Stripes and Hood Tach, Sport mirrors and Honeys? I should remember it!

Hey BJ! Thanks for the kudos! Yes, it's a highly optioned '71 with all of the above you've mentioned! Very nice car! Was neat to have a couple '71's at this show! The '71's have been few and far between at the shows I've been at this year. Starting to think they have all been either cloned or destroyed! LOL

Hi everyone

First post on the forum, but have found this place very helpful over the years.

My 1970 GTO, owned it from '95-'04 and '09-now.

12 bolt posi on a 400 V8 car? Was the engine swapped or did someone install the 12 bolt later? Usually that's supplied with a 455.

Correct. Car was originally a 350 2bbl, th350, 10 bolt 2.78 rear. Has a correct 72' WS 400, BW ST10 (2.88 1st gear), and an XV coded 3.55 posi 12 bolt rear axle.

Not all the 12 bolts on the 455 cars were posi's. My 71 455 car had a single leg 12 bolt.

Odd thing is, there was a camp back in the day that felt single track rears were safer, and more controllable. Some actually didn't want posi. And if someone ordered it that way, specifically, with a single track, they were a member of that camp (most likely).

Check the 1 min mark on this clip as a prime example:
