Took me a lifetime to perfect that look... Worked well through almost 30 years of law enforcement. |

Quezal Gold. I notice many of the gold cars seem to be shaded slightly different.....

Hm, thought I posted here before, guess not!
Probably already seen these, but the driver I purchased in I believe '91, with an original 68k miles on it, all original. Lucy, white & white, sport, originally a 350 2bbl car. Been through a number of partial restos and upgrades, etc, I personally dubbed it 'MUT8SHN', since it keep changing. And speaking of, starting a 70 GTO tribute project with it now, so it will change again! First pic is when purchased in '91, after an H-O strong arm suspension upgrade and 89 T/A wheels. Second pic is in like 96-98, second engine I believe, 400 #16 heads, 175 shot. Third pic is the recent config, pic was in 2010, painted Hot Hues Warp Speed Blue, full suspension, 461, e-heads, 4L80e. .

I just need to install some temporary patch panels on the floor and get some tail pipes. I am using the exhaust pipes and muffler that was on my 1968 Lemans I parted out since they are still quiet and I don't have a lot money now for an exhaust system. Installed some new wiper blades but cannot get the washer pump to engage the nylon gear to pump the fluid. Hard to believe this car was junked out due to the rear end blew up and was in a junkyard in N.C. forabout 17 years with the drivers window down and parked under some trees. I just wished I had taken pictures of it before it got moved in that yard. If it was not for my brother asking me what a GT-37 is, it may still have been there. I remember asking him if it had bucket seats and he said no...I then decided not to even look at the car because I though it was just another plain Jane Lemans until I drove back to Michigan and researched GT-37 on the internet.

Great car, glad you saved it. What yard/town in NC was it in? I saw several blue '71 GT-37s in a salvage yard near Henderson back in the late 1990s when I lived in Raleigh.

Nice find. Glad you put it back on the road!
One of the pics I posted in the thread about 70-72 cars in salvage yards is a blue '71 GT-37 with sword stripes. That's not one of the several from the yard near Henderson though...still trying to find those pics...
