It took 10 years, but yesterday I finally turned 200k on my 2000 Super Duty. This is the most mileage I've ever had on any vehicle, and although he's got some scars on him and is beginning to show his age, he's never failed to do anything I've ever asked of him.

I've been toying with the idea of replacing it, just ignore the items that need to be fixed and sell it off to somebody else, but there isn't a vehicle I've ever owned that I have felt more comfortable in. So off for body and paint, ball joints, brakes & tires - oh & I'll finally fix that front pinion too.

I had an 88 C1500 Truck that I put 215,000 before I bought my present truck in 03. Still was able to get $1300 out of it with the cab corners going and the bed sides (typical). My 03 is now up to 123,000 and still going strong.

Just flipped 199K this morning in my 02 Mustang. This pic was taken two weeks ago. I'll second everything you said about your truck about my 'Stang. Never had a car this far in, and it still runs great. I too toy with getting a new one, but not sure I need to!

Just turned 250K on my 89 S-15 Jimmy yesterday. I have put less than $2K into this truck since 1989. Just maintenance. Wife wants to know when I am going to buy a newer one. I told her 'when this one dies'.

I've just passed 120,000 on my Tundra. I completely love this truck and it looks and acts brand new. I wouldn't even be considering replacing it but my 15 year old wants it when he turns 16 next year. I could buy him something else but this ones paid for and my company will sell it to me for $5000 and then the company will buy me a new one soooooooo.......off it goes to Daniel and the ravages of a 16 year old boy driver. I will try to find a very low mileage (20,000 miles or so) 2006 Tundra Double Cab to replace it with if I can. It's the right size and an amazingly competent vehicle.

I bought my Volvo S60 2.4t two years ago with the hopes of pushing it to 200K. I bought it at 62k. After nickel and dimming me to death (it all started when it hit 100K) the repairs far exceeded the cars value. The last straw was the ABS module and its ability to leak brake fluid a at cost of $900 just for the part. Then we found the rack leaking in two places. Neither of which I replaced. It was time to let it go at just 120K. Too bad as I really liked that car. Never buy a Volvo again.

I just replaced it with a new one of these. I'm sure this will make it to 200K.

My 2005 Kenworth is reading 997,410 on the odometer, but it actually has 6,000 more miles on it according to the readout from the ECM!!!! Still gets the job done and doesn't really look that bad either!!

My '90 LeSabre Limited has entered the 200K zone recently. Odometer shows 205K, but I got that from a salvage yard when the original speedo cluster had been working only part time for the first year I owned it. The replacement cluster showed approximately 5,000 more miles than the original. No telling how many miles were 'lost' before I aquired the car, but I can now be assured that the actual mileage is over 200K.

200,000 miles is the new 100,000 miles. When I was a kid it was like a minor miracle if a car lasted for 100k, nowadays it seems the vast majority of them can go at least 200k without major issues.

I had a 93 Bonneville SSE that had 205K when I totalled it. I was really going to see how many miles I could put on it. Was looking for 300K+. My current 02 SSEI has 140K...we'll see how many I can get out of it. Every car I've ever owned had over 100K when I bought it except for the 93 which had 59K.

The most I ever got was about 310K miles in a 73 Formula 350.

The previous owner rebuilt the engine at 140K. I bought it with a bad trans at 150K miles, and replaced the TH350. It then blew a rear main seal at 180K.

I put a 75 Trans Am WT motor in it, behind a TH400 and ran it to 310K. Along the way, I swapped out the 2.73 rear end for a 3.08 rear.

At 310K, I sold it to a friend, who swapped in a 455 and 3.23 posi. He rebuilt the entire front end (it needed it badly), but within 10K miles he totalled it when a Honda Del Sol ran a red light and T-boned him.

I got my WT motor back, as well as a few other parts when it was totalled.

I got around 280K out of my 78 454 3/4 ton Suburban. The rear end went out on it.

Like Dave, it seems all the cars I buy have at least 100,000 miles and I keep them until ready for the junkyard(usually 200,000 or more). Put the money I save by driving beaters into my Pontiacs.

My 98 Olds 88 has 234,000 miles and runs excellent. 87 Turbo Regal has 147,000 miles.

I turned 208k on my Jeep before selling it which I never thought I would. I'd like a Dodge Ram 4x4, 2500 long bed with a Cummins if I could. They usually go 500K miles or more before needing a rebuild (up to 1 million from what a friend says).

About 15 years ago when I was selling Fords, I took a diesel E350 cargo van on trade with 670,000 miles. It was owned by a cleaning company who ran the thing 24/7. The seats were shot, the body had heavy rust but the van still great.

They claimed they never did a thing to it but front end work. He said they would have kept it longer if the body would have held up.

When I was involved with a car auction a couple of years ago, we ran through a Camry with 550,000. The car was in decent shape and ran well. It brought about $1500 if memory serves.

That's not much on a 7.3 - I've seen plenty that have surpassed 500K. If you have an auto trans better set some aside for a rebuild if it's not been done already
