Default Anyone use UP22.com for Fiberglass hoods?

I see folks have had good luck with GlassTek fiberglass hoods so I will call them tomorrow.

Has anyone used UP22.com? They seem to have several Pontiac related items but I don't find anything on them when I search for UP22.

Thanks in advance!

My advice,do a search, this topic has come up in the past.

I dont think I've ever heard a single good thing said about unlimited products parts or they're service.

Do a search over @ YB.com too if you want more info & opinions.

My prefered brand for fiberglass stuff is glasstek.

I have a glasstek 1 piece FE,5" cowl hood,and decklid,on my '70 Lemans/GTO racecar,all very nice pieces.

With VFN being my next choice after that.

HTH Joe.

Thanks Bret. I called unlimited and they were eager to get off the phone so I let them go. I've seen good replies about GlassTek - if I order one right away I'll go with them. I may just use my factory hood a little longer. I really don't need a 5" cowl but if I order one it will be from GlassTek.

Biggest pile of crap there ever was. How they are still in busness is beyond me. Bought 2 69 firebird doors from them & were so bad I couldn't use them. They would not take them back so I took them to the dump & wrote it all off as a loss

joe i have not used one of their pontiac hoods, but i called em and ordered a new L-88 hood scoop for m z-28 it came in just now and its fine fits as good as any i ever had, i used one of their hoods on a 71 z years ago, and the difference is even in their bolt on quality hoods they use much less glass than vfn, they street parts are very light wieght, compared to vfns, i put a vfn 69 ta hood on my orange bird 10 years ago, and it was heavier than the factory 350 hood i took off, so real good quality! i just put a harwood 4 inch cowl on a 68 bird and its heavy to, it actually had a fully smoothed underside real good quality,

Wow, thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'm going to steer clear of them and try GlassTek if I can't get a Super400 hood.

A friend forwarded me this link:

Doesn't look like someone I want to risk it with.

I'd be willing to bet $$ UP does'nt even make a lotta the individual scoops they sell.

So yeah, the quality on some of those may well be OK.

But I could easily be wrong on that deal...

What I was refering to is the fact that their full body panels (hoods, decklids,FE,doors, etc.) have a horrible rep in this hobby.

Also agree Harwood makes some nice stuff, but they dont make hardly anything for our older pontiacs, mostly just the late model stuff,or the common stuff between a pontiac and the chevy stuff, and throw in some misc. ford stuff to boot,so they're mostly just after the "low hanging fruit" of the fiberglass customer tree.

HTH
