I am looking for a book or manual that has part #'s in it, like for rearends, choke towers, dist and carb's etc.

Also, anyone know how to id these choke towers? #'s on top are

those are the last 4 numbers of the whole part#.
If you can find a parts and illustration manual for your era(not cheap)
you will use it enough to pay for it many times over.
I like using one a couple of years newer than my cars so I can see if the part fits something newer too.

If you use a master parts catalog (MPC) after the build year of your car, there may be some original parts that have been superseded by later replacement parts. So, if you are interested in the "nuts correct" original assembly line installed parts, you will need a MPC dated around the build date of your car.

And even that will not be fool proof because other parts were sometimes (and quite often) used, but this is probably the best you can do. You might confirm some part numbers here or with someone with an original car.

8097 - ALL 68 4V Pontiac
9098 - Many - all automatics. 69 428, '70 400, '70 455, '70 455HO
