It's not a bad looking car, just not awesome looking. If i was going out today to buy a 4dr GM sedan I'd be at a carmax picking up a used G8 GT.

Definitely! I had a 72 Electra 225 Custom 4dr and loved it. I regret selling it (sold it on 2002). It was a super nice car and very reliable. I replaced with though with my 73 Grand Ville 4dr (which really reminds me of it since its hte same color and basic body style), which is also a really reliable car. Alot of people say what crap GM cars were in the 70s, but the big 1971-76 GM cars were really good cars. They had good drivetrains and were built like tanks. Ford-Mercury-Lincoln also made a good BIG car from 1973-78. Really, one has ot admit that even the 1977-90 full-size GM cars and the 1979-91 full-size Fords were pretty good cars to. It was the small American cars of the 70s-80s that seemed to give the American cars a bad reputation.

I love cars, ALL cars, and I am lucky enough to own the one car that I love the most, the Pontiac GTO. Doesn't mean that I don't like and respect other brands. I had a '71 Duster with a 225 slant six and boy do I wish I still had that car. It was fun and almost indestructible. As to the Regal, unless it has a 6-71 sticking out the hood, I just don't want one. Global economics is here and that is OK, but we should be the leaders, not followers. Thanks to our government, we are now the #3 space-faring nation behind Russia and China. Thank you global economy. Further discussion on this subject belongs in the Clubhouse. I love Pontiac for its aggressive performance and styling, and no other brand is going to smother that flame.

Pontiac was stabbed thru the heart in 1977 with the first Olds motors installed under the hood. Then they were killed in 1981.But GM let the body lay around the morgue untill last year.

GM killed Pontiac.Just like they've "F'ed" up everything else they touch.

Buicks slogan used to be "Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick?"

My answer is, HELL NO!!!!!

And GM, you can quit sending me vouchers for money off any other GM products in your family because I divorced myself from your family on April 27, 2009. If it ain't got an arrowhead on it, it's not in my driveway plain and simple. It's all about the guy pictured below!!!

Normally I would agree, but now that the unions are owners of GM maybe they will protect their interests by holding their memberships' work ethics and quality to a normal, I mean better standard.
Ah who am I kidding.

I heard an ad for this car on the radio this morning. It appears the main reason they're playing up the 'German engineering' angle is to try to woo car buyers who would otherwise be buying cars from foreign manufacturers. Whether it will work or not I don't know but I understand what they're trying to do - they want to sell cars.

I took the reference to "German Engineers" as they are better than "American Engineers"

Let see,

Pre 2009 GM = Genreral Motors
Post 2009 GM = Government Motors
Future GM = German Motors

Sounds about right!

FWIW when Buick Regal production is moved to North America it will be at the Oshawa assembly plant in Canada which is CAW. The new Regal was originally going to be the replacement of the Saturn Aura based on the Epsilon II platform before Saturn was axed like our beloved Pontiac.
