My carb on my 68 is not opening up all the way when I get on it. Its a holley 600. I dont know how old it is, but somebody told me that it might be a vacuum issue?

Could be a vacuum diaphram that is bad if it has vacuum secondaries.

Well since it's not the original carb anyway you should be able to make the 2bbl cable work.

On the original question, make sure the rear butterflies are free. I had one of those universal 0-1850 vac holley carbs that I never really got on. Noticed after stomping on it one day that they didn't open and found the shaft had corroded in the housing and the vacuum couldn't pull them open. My advise is to ditch the holley. I ran them for years because I fell into the "quadra-junk" thinking trap from everyone around me. I put a quad back on it when I got into numbers originality and the first thing I noticed was how much better the car ran. You couldn't pay me to run a Holley anymore. I'm sure there are those out there that'll tell you differently and it's all in the setup but I can only give my opinion from my own experiences on the matter!
