Default What are your winter projects?

I'm going to put on a new steering wheel. Put in new door hinges and put on new convertible weather stripping.
Thinking about a new rear window well too.
What are you guys planning to help pass the long dark winter months?

Having recently moved from Phoenix to Utah, this will be my first experience with not being able to drive my cars during the winter. I won't be doing much to my 66 GTO convertible this winter. I plan to get my 74 GTO ready for the track when it opens in the spring...I miss drag racing!!! I have to finish putting the rear suspension together, rebuild a Quadrajet for it (with a kit from Cliff), some wiring, front end alignment, etc. etc.....

I will also be doing a bunch of smaller stuff to my other cars, and hopefully start building the new engine for my 73 Formula.

Might be doing a rear disc break conversion, also been thinking about making my dash bezel rings pretty with some Eastwood chrome paint, attach my dash pad (I have just left it off for the last year) and put on that new rear bumper that has been sitting in my garage since this past summer. We'll see if I get any of it done...

Move my parts out of my storage building one town away, get my latest purchase home, floors and quarters finished on my 71 convertible and get the variance I need to build my barn where I want it.

A little buffin and waxin. Then after getting new RWL BFG T/As on mine, it's sitting out in the gagage with it and saying... "Spring is comin baby, we'll go out and play when it gets here. You just sit, stay calm, and be ready for the fun."

Got to get my engine rebuilt, getting tired of leaving a smoke trail. Clutch needs rebuilding to, I dont know though work has been really slow. May have to let it sit for a while.

Rug, if you find them again please post a link. They sound cool and would be a great fix. And they'd save a lot of work too.

Time for an engine detail...

Got the Hirch paint in the other day.... gonna remove the radiator, and all the accessories on the engine, and get in there and do a nice detail painting.... maybe powder coat a few brackets.

Also fix small p/steering leak where the lines enter the box....

Other things depending on funds....

Get Wood steering wheel redone...

Add booster to brakes....

Add some Hotchkis stuff....

Hopefully a parchemnt vinyl top and then MAYBE if all goes well, the stroked 400 (461) from our old Bird will go between the fenders of the LeMans!

I know, I regret not getting a set- I haven't seen them in a while. Something like $89 if I recall. Too bad they didn't make the outer most ring (around the entire bezel).
