Doc said discharge tomorrow... a remarkable recovery so far. I do have to keep the garden hose in "Capt. Howdy" until next week, but I guess they'll give me a bag to strap to my leg. Somehow I think I can make the other guys jelious at the urinal...hummm? when I go pee.

Ordered my first set of bags... Not bad $31 for 10 of them... should last me about 3 weeks, but these let the air out.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.....

Thanks BigAqua,... I've always said that life is about the people,... not the money. Unfortunately, most people take that attitude and see how much money they can make off of others generosity.

I'm becoming a bit more mobile, but the burning pain from the wound is pretty bad today. The back pain has subsided quite a bit since yesterday. What really sucks is that it's cold and snowy, so taking a walk outside is out of the question. Miranda is planning on taking the boys to go see Santa on Wednesday after I get this garden hose pulled out of "Capt. Howdy".... that'll be a big sigh of relief. The bladder seems to be healing nicely.

It's amazing finding out how many people really care about you when you're down and out. It replaces any pain medication by 10-fold.

Your all a bunch of great darksiders and "car guys".... Thank God for each and every one of you!!!!

Ron

Wink Best wishes from this side of the Pond..

Ron,

I just want to add to the Best Wishes list from this side of the pond.

A tough call from what you have been through so far but it will work out fine I know. Good buddy of mine over here had severe "rust" early last year, he's got the double bag now but he's doing fine.

Doctor's want to do a re-splice on his back end to get rid of the poop bag but he's holding off till after January 22 when he will walk his beautiful daughter down the isle. After that, he's going in.

But in the meantime, he's back rebuilding auto trans on a daily basis. Just gets them delivered to his shed, he uses a lift to get them up to bench height, full re-build and you come round and collect it. So he doesn't do any heavy lifting.

You just have to cut your cloth to suit the circumstances so with a bit of luck, I'm sure you will soon be back in the saddle doing what you love.

Good Luck,
Ian

I spoke briefly with Ron on Friday. Capt. Howdie is much happier now that his tube is gone. Dr. Woo removed the staples as well.
He is doing quite well. Tired but recovering well.

Dr Woo? Do you mean the same Steely Dan Dr.?

"Are you crazy are you high or just an ordinary guy? Are you with me Dr. Wu?"

That would be just too ironic to have Capt. Howdie and Steely Dan connected by Dr. Wu.

Keep up the good progress Ron. I know you are old enough to know Wm. S. Burroughs!

Things are coming along just fine. We took the boys to see Santa Friday night, grabbed a single cheeze-everyting and a chili on the side on the way home, and went out for a bit today to fight the shopping crowd. Once Dr. Wu took out the staples the pinching on my belly wound feels much better (about an 8" cut). Good thing is having a wife who body-builds.... she's shoving amino acids (proteins) down my throut, which is helping heal the muscel tissue very quickly. Just getting out is doing me great, but wearing my @$$ out. I've only had 2 "old man" (think "A Christmas Story") events.... dag-gummet - blowout events. These damn bags are a pain in the .....belly, but learning. Its waking up in the morning with a full pouch.

With the garden hose out,... movement is much easier. I don't know if you've ever had a cathider, but if you ever do,... my sympathy to you and you'll perfectly understand what I mean by a garden hose!!!

My re-evaluation is in March and then it's back under the knife to hook up the plumbing again,... then I'll just have my war medals (scares) to show for it.

Hopefully next week the weather will be good enough for me to take the Catalina out for a drive... I'll be able to get behind the wheel again, and that is my first goal.... drive my darksider.

Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers...they've meant so much to me.
