Default Quick Ratio Steering Box

Is the quick ratio steering box in the PY catalogue correct in saying 2.9 turns lock to lock. I thought I saw elsewhere that the stock is 3.5 and you can get a 2.5 lock to lock box? It's for a 68.....any insight is appreciated

Not sure about the PY boxes. For an inexpensive and very do-able project do a search for jeep cherokee in this or one of the tech forum headings and you'll find alot of good info.

the cherokee swap was popular because there wasnt much else out there...now you can go to NAPA and get a 12:1 box for a chevelle for 100 bux...i will look around i have the part number somewhere..

On the cherokee swap..your supposed to use the little square cherokee not the grand cherokee...the stops are closer to what a GTO would be, in other words, you get the full turning radius without backing up and trying it again...lol

I took one out of a '75 Impala from the junkyard, it had 2.75 turns lock to lock. When I looked it up at my store I found that '75 Impalas I believe had the exact same normal turn steering box but the Impala I believe had a quick ratio option too. I might double check that. Autozone's site shows the exact same boxes for both cars.
