Yes it is. It seems that most of the people here are from back east or the midwest.

I agree.... I figured they would've went down with all the other GM dealers that opened big brand new multi-million dollar facilities.... Like Mazzei in Antioch.

That 4WD T/A sat in that yard for years (90's). It was about 3 miles from my house, in the country. It had a small block Chevy in it, I think on a K-5 Blazer frame. After it deteriorated more it was moved to a parking lot in the city and was for sale at 10K. It vanished after about a year.

Steve -
Regarding the Amphicar, there was a dealership in Alexandria, VA, back in the late 60's.
It was right on the Potomac, I guess for demo "drives."

Check out the signage in some of these. Also the tag on the upside-down '59 Ford.

Barcak family leaving Mineola, NY in 1963 with our loaded to the rafters Silver leaf Green '62 Catalina Safari 9 passenger and pulling a trailer. My Father called this pic "Arizona or bust". Too bad the photo has been water damaged. It was the first Pontiac in our family.
By the mid 60s, my older brother got a hold of it, swapped in a 3.90 rear, 3 speed manual, then a 4 speed and a 421.

Here is a great idea for all you Daytona owners! When you are not ripping up the speedways at 200+mph on the weekends, that huge wing can also serve you well hauling rolls of carpet through the weekdays!
