Nice looking car, but I wonder where they got the production number of 1,359...there were more than 12,000 Catalina convertibles built in 1961.

my guess would be engine production but I do not know.

They didn't say it was a 425A but I'm assuming that's where that figure came from. It's close, according to the PHS doc's on my '61 Ventura, there were 1352 425A/4 speed cars built in '61. That includes all body styles.

If that car was all they said it was (matching numbers, factory 4 speed etc) in my opinion someboby got one heck of a deal. It appeared to have a Chevrolet shifter handle.

Did anyone see what the '63 421 Cat sold for? It went across the block just before they came on TV.

According to their website it brought 80k. You can sign up for free and they post the selling price (NOT including fees) within just a few minutes after the car sells.
