Outstanding! Was sweatin' it there for a little! And thanks for the compliments, like I said, need some practice, have a couple I need to do for other cars!
Thread size, well if you get the 'kit' for the sender, it comes with all the popular fittings, so for sure you'll get one that fits. .

Yeah, I saw that but I'm trying to avoid ordering from Summit. First, they charge state tax AND shipping....second, they don't have the pod setup I want. All I found is A pillar pods and some other things I don't want. I've found everything on egauges.com but don't know which temp sender. I can find out when I get home but I wanted to order it today and don't have the info with me.

Just call eGauges.com, they're a great bunch of guys, easy to work with, give them the VDO number and they will make it happen. Their' website isn't the best, but they're a distributor for VDO, so they have everything they offer.

Bushing kit is on the bottom of this page, but you can order it with the sender using the previously posted part number:
http://egauges.com/vdo_send.asp?Sender=Adapter_Bushings And just ask, like I said, they're knowledgable, and if they don't know something, they will do the homework for you.

if I could hijack this thread for a moment and get it back on the origional issue. safety is a major concern. if you have mechanical guesges and they fail it could result in hazzaardous flamable fluids in the passenger compartment.

Yeah, there are drawbacks and positives for each. I'm going with electric because of ease of installation and the fact that HWYSTR got me started with a donated electric water temp gauge.

I gave up on trying to get the pipe plug next to the distributor out. Felt like I was going to break something...any reason why these won't work together at the filter housing? One source for both gauges? (I want to keep the idiot light as well as the gauge...)
![]() Also, I tried to make the gauge pack work with my '68 Turquoise interior so I painted the bezels and the pod to match the '68 interior... ![]()

Looks fine in there! Nice!
On the filter housing location, it works, though not sure about the fitting material, might not give as good a connection as desired. (I usually use brass). But think you're good, give it a try. If the readings are off, it won't be by much. Use the grey rtv on the threads that's safe with senders, help eliminate any further resistence. .
