Here is a cool one I picked up on E-Bay. Always wanted to find this car in a barn since I got outbid on a similar one that was a 421 car out of PA years ago.

DH, great to see a photo of a Lawman's steed, and he knows what 'class' is.

Considering the weather in most of the country, thought this would be appropriate.

Intresting that this car has the early(60-62) 8 lug center caps.

I met this guy at a sportsman show back when he had a 1969 Bonneville wagon and had an autographed photo of it. My mom probably still has the photo somewhere.

Back atcha with an '80s photo of my then girlfriend now wife and her (our) roomates at a womans college in VA. Just to prove that we do get some good snows. That Bonneville does well in the snow - once you dig it out ladies.

Z4CSS - dig that thing up! I know that I have seen Pics of him with different wagons back to at least '64. Maybe earlier. Good racket if you can get a new one each year. Sure would like to know what happened to them. I am sure they are in some dusty bay somewhere. Maybe that is how he got the other center caps?

Default Small world...

I just today came across this item from the "NHRA Bulletin Board" column in Hot Rod magazine of Nov '57. Phil was actually the first local rodder to sway me toward Pontiac V8 engines. Not long after this picture was taken, I met him and asked lots of questions about the engines- which resulted in the purchase of my first one, a '57 Tri-Power, shortly thereafter.

The races were on the Sampson AFB runway (8,000 ft?) in Romulus, but Geneva was the nearest city (10 miles?).

1970 GTO.. The "Two Lane Blacktop" car. Owned by Dimitri in Hollywood, CA at the time this was taken.. 1987. Claimed it had a RAIV in it and wanted $4500 but wouldn't include the RAIV (would have put the RAIII back in it that he said it came with). Decal on windshield was a Universal Studios Lot sticker. I believe car is now restored and resides in AZ??

Another pair of Dimitri's GTOs. 1987- Hollywood, CA outside of his apt. I believe he said the 70 Judge had a RAIV (asking $4500). The 69 Judge was a RAIII and he wanted $3000.

Another shot of Dimitri's '69 GTO Judge. Hollywood, CA outside his apt. 1987.
I met him to buy some parts and he proceeded to show me his cars for sale here and all over town. All parked on the sides of streets. This was a RAIII however, some had RAIV's which he wouldn't sell w/the cars.

1967 LeMans Sprint. Junk Yard in Anaheim, CA. Dec. 1985.
They wouldn't sell the whole car so I pulled the following from it:
Set of Rally I's, (two were in trunk), 4spd, Cust.Strg. Wheel, Console, Power Seat, Rally Guages, etc. Have other similar S.Calif. junk yard pix I'll be posting. Ahhhh, the good ole days!

More from outside of Dimitri's apt. in Hollywood, CA- 1987
'69 GTO Conv (wanted $3500). '70 Hurst Olds Conv (wanted $5000).
The GTO had a RAIV in it but he wouldn't include that motor (only a RAIII).

1966 GTO Conv- Newport Beach, CA- 1984
I had arrived in S.Calif.- USMC and needed a car. Original owner was asking $3000 which I thought was a bit much at the time. Auto, 4Bbl, Power Windows. Sat there for a good couple of months. I ended up buying a '69 Chevelle SS396 for $1500 just a few miles away from this car (also orig. owner).

This is a picture I took in the pits at National Trailways Drag Strip in Columbus Ohio. It was the 1987 GTOAA Nationals Drag Day and this GTO was not running very good. Milt found that it was missing an intake bolt causing a vacuum leak. Jim

Left to right in photo: Ken Crocie who owned H-O Racing at that time, Milt Schornack, Royal Pontiac and Lars Grimsrud, then the President of the GTOAA.

I think this is a great shot...the trucks, the old style truck stop, the background, the fact that it was taken on the move and check the sign...Bonneville Service.

Lars was the reason I quit the GTOAA. He so poorly managed the organization, it was awful. I think I got 5 of my 12 newsletters the last year I was a member.
