C118 is surpisingly early for that car. Wonder if it has to do with it being a Freemont car and the motors coming from Michigan?

Paul, the C118 casting date is the ONLY As-Cast 2506 date that has appeared in the RA II cars - there are reportedly a couple of late build cars that had ground and stamped 2506 blocks but I have never witnessed them.

A very few late build RA I blocks carry the C118 date as well.
