Car had sat outside forever, wasn't saveable by the standards of the day, would probably sell well on e-bay today.

Hey guys, I know this is an old thread, but it's the first time I have seen it, and I found the options very interesting. Especially the number of cars with deluxe or wire wheel covers. I'm restoring 68 convert., Solar Red/Red/white top, 400 YS, 400 TH, dual gate console, power steering and brakes, tilt, AM push, rally clock, and wire wheel covers. I was planning to go with Rally II's, mostly because I like the look, but also because I can't find any wires. All original parts on the car except the block. Since it will never be a matching car, would it be better to keep looking for the wires, or just go ahead with the Rally II's?

Wally: Mine currently is running 15" Ralley II's but I did find 6 wire wheel covers and restored the best 4. I believe the wire wheel covers are the same for 67-69 and occasionally pop up on e-bay or at swap meets. Eventually I'll get the wire wheel covers installed because I have this strange desire to get the car back to the way it looked new. Basically it's a matter of personal preference.

I have 5 or 6 '68 GTOs and at least that many more '69s, all unrestored and partially parted, here in my yard. Have PHs'd a few of them. None are being parted further and will either be restored or sold to be restored. Most of them I saved from being crushed due to poor foresight by the prior owners.

Of the 68's
1 of them is solar red, head rests, endura delete, white int, black top, standard 350 hp engine, 4 speed.

Another is nighwatch green, 4 speed, rally Is, am/fm

Another is Verduro green, black int, 3 speed, a/c

Still would like to build/find a Meridian Turquiose ht with parchment int, cornering lights, hide aways, hood tack, head rests. That would be a pretty car. Kern Osterstock of HO Racing fame, had one optioned that way when it was close to new.

Verdoro Green
Black interior
Base 400 WT code
3-speed manual trans
3.08 rear end special ordered
205R x 14 white tires
I'm pretty sure there's only 1 real option on that list, the special gear ratio. No radio was ordered or anything like that, pretty much like 3 things on the PHS documents were highlighted.
