Default Opinion on new brake lines

Ready to replace the brake line in my '68 LeMans project.
I saw on Inline tube the have a brake line kit that has the partitioning valve up at the master cylinder, booster instead of at the frame location.
They say it gives more room to install headers.
Since this project will have headers I was wondering if anyone had this set up.
I have the valve on the frame in my GTO,but that has the factory ram air headers, and it works fine.
How / where do the two front lines plumb?
I have seen this setup on other cars at car shows, and it just doesn't look right, but if it works and gives me more room I'm in.
Thanks again

I don't know if it is necessary with headers, but I bought it because I went from drum to disc. This is the only photo I have on my 68 and was taken before I put the mounting bracket on the proportioning valve to secure it to the master. I still had to move the brake line that runs accross the engine crossmember when using 2" Supercomps. When I switched to Dougs, it wouldn't have to have been moved.

Thats the one.
I'm also going with the Dougs.
The car is totally apart now(frame off)so I ill be replacing all the brake lines.
So in your opinion could the prop valve stay at the stock location on the frame, and not interfere with the header.
I want to get this right the first time.

Goatman who did you get that set up from.
Looks clean.
Hard to believe no one else has experience or an opinion on this after 83 views and one reply.

Bought it right from Inline Tube along with the stainless brake lines and 1/2" fuel & return lines.

The item you are referring to is a combination valve, not a propportioning valve. The factory prop valve is located up under the master when disc brakes are ordered. The distribution block is located down on the frame. The dist block is the same on drum and disc cars in 69-70. Starting in 71 the factory went to a combination valve replacing both the dist block and the prop valve, this valve mounts down along the frame. For a really clean front disc conversion, we use the 71 bracket, como valve and front lines. The combo valve was moved up under the master on most cars such as second gen f-bodies. pretty much any brake vendor is going to sell you any of the above setups. Inline has them all and is the provider of the 71 frame bracket for the combo valve. The combo valve under the master will provide the most room for header clearance. When this setup is employed, the front lines run up to the combo valve. They are specific to the conversion and differ from stock lines that ran to the distribution block. Good Luck.

Paul,
Thanks for the information. I'm glad to hear from someone who has dealt with this.
I know my 68 GTO had a distribution block, and when I added disc I added a hold off valve under the Master/Booster.It also has the RA repo exhaust and has plenty of room.
I don't know the correct term for the valve
I'm just going by the inline tube web site.
"Part #PR 102 71-77 Gm Prop Valve Finally the correct 71-77 GM Prop. Valve"

In your experience will the combo valve in the stock frame location interfere with the headers.
I would rather do the stock location, on the frame.like you said a cleaner look.
Thanks again
AL

Sid, Sounds like the thing to do.
Just wanted to get some opinions here first.
Never hurts to hear from all that have experienced this.
