MegaSquirt is just as good as or better than anything else out there.
The latest version of MegaSquirt is full sequential fuel Injection and coil on plug distributor-less ignition.
To run sequential there needs to be a cam position sensor and a 35-1 trigger wheel. Using a Ford EDIS8 ignition control module it is possible to run wasted spark ignition. There still need to be a modified distributor to drive the oil pump.

I have some 36-1 trigger wheels designed for the Pontiac harmonic damper, for sale.
They are lazier cut and mount on the back side of the damper. so the pulleys do not have to be repositioned.

Hey Ollie. In post #21 you mention Megasquirt systems needing 35-1 wheels. But in #22you say you have 36-1 wheels. I believe Megasquirt need sthe 36-1 like you make. But I coul dbe wrong. If it is 36-1 like yours, how much for one and what do you need to do to mount it on the back of the balancer? Do you use a fixture of some sort or do you have someone that does it? PM me if you would for the info inless you want others to see the info. I would also ask what megasquirt to buy since their self assembly units stop at lower optioned units. Thank you Ollie. Mark L

I wonder if the long duration spark from the Electromotive would cause trouble with over heating the plugs in a high boost engine ?

I doubt its an issue. Possibly might need a colder plug. Id suspect at worse perhaps a tid shorter plug life. Electromotives circuitry adjusts to plug demand. BTW their trigger wheel is finer resolution 58t-2 and timings are based on crank angles not time.

Any type of throttle body that will bolt to your style flange on your EFI manifold will work. There are 4 barrel style throttle bodies and other types as well. But just like a carb that bolted to the top of a manifold is not pontiac specific.....neither are these.

For many of us we just bought the Edelbrock EFI manifold on sale. That one was a Dominator flange. So we can use a Dominator style throttle body, or we can use a Dominator to 4150 adapter and then a 4150 style throttle body, and then there are the elbow style intakes with single venturi throttle bodies............

I have an Accufab 4150 style myself, and really wanted the Victor that was on sale, but adding an adapter after paying shipping and 10% sales tax (CA) made it not as great of a deal.

Still, if I decide to sell my car, I'll have some EFI stuff to unload as well.

What Krach and aronnk_md said. There are manifolds available with the Dominator and the 4150 bolt pattern. I have a 79 TA that I am working on that is why I chose the Edlebrock Victor EFI Manifold and an Accufab 4150 throttle body. So I can retain the shaker.
