Shadowing is making it look gray (grey), but it's silver, with overspray on inner rim.

Between being busy at work, and family stuff, I have to squeeze time in on the TA when I can, so I'm only able to give it an hour here and there, but here is a little more progress:
Most of rear end components are installed and cleaned I bought the "expensive" carpet underlay kit, and I just couldnt stand it, so I bought some bulk jute padding with silver backing, and cut it to the contours of the floor. Ive used the more expensive Dynamat type of insulation on other cars, but I didnt want to adhere anything to the perfect floors of this car. I also laid the new carpet that had been boxed for 9 months, so it can start taking the right shape. I then installed the rear lower plastics, and upper rear seat. The original headliner was falling off the board, so my local interior shop removed all the foam, installed new, then re-glued the original material back on. He couldnt promise it will last, but for $50, I figured it was worth a shot and so far, so good. The firewall heater box, harnesses and vacuum lines are also in place. The engine side AC case is installed, as is the wiper motor, transmissions, and brake booster. I removed the plastic that the body shop had wrapped the front subframe in, but I havent blown all the dust off of it yet. I hope to get a few more hours on it today |

Got the bumper back and installed. I ended up using Badger Plating in the Milwaukee area. Turned it around in 3 weeks at a fair price. Looks flawless.
The Trim Parts carpet isnt fitting well, especially the rear piece. I ordered another rear only, and the fit is exactly the same. I cant live with it, so I ordered an ACC carpet. The dash pad I had dyed is showing an old repair, so the hunt begins for another. ALso still waiting on the engine builder. While I am not finding much time to dedicate to the car right now, I feel like I cant progress much anyway. It makes no sense to put the seats in, before the dash, no sense to put doors on it while there is still interior work to do. I dont want to assemble the front sheetmetal until the car is running, etc, etc. I plan on bleeding the brakes and putting the wheels on it, modifying aftermarket rear sway bar bushings and installing them. At that point, the suspension, brakes and steering are done. Sorry, done rambling.. |
