Default Any Third Gen F Body Owners?

Are there any other third generation F body owners members of this forum? I purchased my 1988 Camaro IROC a little over two years ago. I had been searching for a 350(L98) car with rear disc brakes and no T- tops for the last several years. This car is totally stock down to the floor mats and radio. I found it on Craigslist and negotiated with the owner for three months until we agreed on a price. Now I would like to sell it. I like variety. Is anyone else like that?

I owned a '92 Formula L98 car, with the factory CC1 t-tops, for a few years. It was one of perhaps a few hundred produced with those options. It was a fun car for me at the time, and with a set of the Ronal R-15 Firehawk wheels on it, was a good looking ride. I sold it about two years ago.

I also owned a '92 Trans Am L98 car that had been converted to a T56 setup.

I owned a '87 L98 Iroc T-top with the Bose stereo. Owned 2 '88 GTAs, a '88 GTA notchback and a '89 TTA pace car. Love the way they drive but once you go LS power it's hard to look back to TPI lol. Google Hawk's Third Gen. They are in Easley, SC. I've done a lot of business with them. They buy cars and consign. Worse case scenario is they can give you a reasonable value on it. Car looks great BTW.

Bonneville Joe,

Thanks for the compliment and the information! One minute I want to sell the car and the next I do not want to sell it.

I would like to keep it and put in a LS engine and six speed automatic but I need to win the Lotto first!

Like the 2nd gens, these were on every street corner at one time. Yours looks like a real survivor. It'd be a shame to hack it up for a LS swap.

Like the colors on that IROC. The grey and yellow give it a nice subtle touch.

I would keep all the original parts if I ever did do a LS swap. I guess you are correct about hacking an original rust free car.

Thanks. I was told that yellow was not that common a stripe color. I don't know if that is true.

I had a 82 Red Trans Am and traded that for a Black 88 Trans Am.

The 82 was an 305 LG4 auto, but the 88 was a 305 TPI with a 5 speed, much more fun

Did you notice if the fuel injected car got better miles per gallon than the LG4 car?
