we have one in front of the other building if we get more than 3 inches of rain in a mater of a week it will seep outof one spot till the groound drys up . we had to install a perforated pipe on the exterior of the building to the sump pit to keep the ground dry you can actually see the water push up when it rains ( we though it was a leak from our well to building pipe) . and the building is higher than the surrounding area , its due to high bedrock in the area . only way to alieviate ist it to dig and make a drain for it .

Keep an eye on Your water pressure or or water bill just to make sure You don't have a leak some where....also check any water lines/routes coming into your home?We have had a lot of rain here too and it takes a while for it to quit especially if the ground is really saturated!

Randy, Are you on city water or well water? If you have city water, call them and they will come out and check for chlorine. That will tell you if it's a water leak or ground water. If you are on well water, you may have to dig until you find it.

Wow! That is a high water bill. Is that normal in your area? Here in NJ my bill is $7.95 a month. That is a family of three and not watering the grass. This the lowest they charge, Then they charge for eveything over a certein gallons a month.
Are you sure you don't have a leak after the meter?
