Looks and sounds like you have it optioned out pretty nicely! Thats what I like restore / build it as you like. If it were mine I would probably add the Ram Air option. Looking forward to seeing pictures of it when its done good luck!

Sounds good!!! I would add a rear spoiler, just think it looks good. My 68 started life very similar to yours...Nordic blue teal interior and top 68 convertible, ralley 1s, auto, buckets, console and hideaways. Previous owner added P/S. I have added a hood tach and rear spoiler. I have owned mine since 1991 and similar life situation, just getting around to working on my car I am 46

Sounds sweet and a nice start however you're missing the MOST important, cheapest, easiest to install and functionally used option out there! Power trunk release -- a must have for the local car show on Thursday night when it's time to load/unload the lawn chairs! Some other's would be a power seat and since it's a vert, don't forget the map light mirror as there's no dome light. I'm assuming you have the courtesy lamps under the dash? You didn't mention them but I think those were standard on verts (at least i've never had one without them) it's nice to have the floors light up at night.

Another Turquoise/Dark Aqua car here. . Mine had the black vinyl top, rally IIs, A/C, tinted glass, dual gate and a few other run of the mill base GTO options.
I'm sticking with the color, got rid of the A/C, like to add 4 or 5 speed. It's not even a frame off but seems like I've been working on it since I was in 4th grade. I'm 52 now...lol

Can you post more info on the headlamp conversion? Did you convert to projectors and some sort of housing that fits in the stock lamp buckets?

Are you sure you want to change the paint color? The turquoise will look killer with the contrasting parchment interior. My 68 was turquoise and I always thought it was a great color with the metallic in it. Jim

I recently picked up a quart of Meridian Turquoise to paint inside my doors etc... I opened the can and wow...It is a beautiful color. Photos can't quite capture it...always looks a little 'greener' in pics.. For the first time, I'm really excited to get some color on it.

I love indigo blue metallic, but I also think the meridian turquoise is cool. Mine was originally meridian turq/black interior/white top and i will also be converting it to parchment interior. (too hot here for black vinyl!)
This is my indigo blue 70 chevelle. Dad has a 99 silverado and i liked the color so went with the same.

All great suggestions guys
Ram Air is a thought since I already have an extra set of hood scoops at are already cut open. but if I want to make it fast I go modern LS series , it's just driver nothing special Tilt, reclining bucket, Ram II all very nice and $$$ Power trunk is a definite since my keyless entry system has output for it (my power locks are waiting for switches trying to figure out how to hide the $150 from my wife lol) Slogto My wife saw your post about the ejection seat (and asked if that was for her LOL) Andyg I'll let you know more about the headlight conversion when I get them Basically they are made by Autopar they are metal/glass housing that replace the 5 3/4 sealed beams and use H4 for high/low beam and H1 for high beam. Then a H4 bi-xeon conversion kit with ballast and wiring harness Let you know how this goes Greg I drove the car for 5 years (81-86) as my daily driver Never really like color, I think maybe because it faded and there was lots of rust holes in the fenders quarters Then I bought a 94 z28 convert (my 21 old son's drives daily) in mystic teal Didn't like that color either. My favorite Pontiac color have alway been White, silver, black, ( think any could be black and look good) and dark metallic blue. So color change for me Thanks for all suggestions I couple more I thought of Corner lights ( have 2 lens and bezels, but nothing else) power seat track ( I have. may added it one day) cruise control I guess what it comes down to is I'm use to driving modern cars and want to add some of the same things we take granite |
