Default 61 bonneville tail light , rechrome ???

Has anyone ever have or heard of having 61 B' ville tail lights rechromed ? I talked to Pauls Chrome Plating and said they did very few of these . Not to say they did not do any but when you are aproching the 1 K mark makes me nervouse on what the end product will be when they arrive and open the package . I did talk to a local concern nearby that will do them but will not fill in the pits . Any suggestions ? Wayne

they are a chromed potmetal, so tough to restore because of the pitting. most of the time, the passenger side pits more than driver because exhaust - so you might be able to find singles in pretty good shape.

if not, they can be repaired, but the pits require soldering in some silver or something like that. usually time consuming ($$).

Iverson Automotive does very nice repair.

I am sorry that I can not remember what car magazine I was just reading about this process. Basically you do all the repair and then send it in to the chrome shop to re-chrome the items. I will try and find the magazine on the rack here.
