I think the correct spelling is Pepsi-cola, Florida. At least, that's what I used to hear ol' folks calling it....

Well, where do I begin? The repairman came out this morning and put 3 lbs of freon in my 6 lb system. It is cooling but I am looking at replacing the system sometime in the months ahead. He told me that it might last until the cold weather. When we turn the heat on the A-coil in the attic will be under pressure and that is most likely where the leak is. I hope and pray that it lasts that long.
Now, about the car. I ordered parts from PY for the top and rollers for both quarter windows. I also ordered the windshield trim clips and repair studs from another vendor.I will update totals when I receive everything. My buddie's 57 is almost done. The trim man has to cover the sunvisors and the painter has to touch up a few spots and buff the car out. Then it will be ready to come home. I plan on taking mine when we go to pick it up. That's about all there is to report for now. Y'all have a good one.

Man, is it hot! I saw a squirrel handling his nuts with a pot holder today! Temps have been arond 100 or better for the last week and supposed to be like that for the next week.
But, enough about the sunny south. I did a little work on the car yesterday. I installed the windshield trim clips. Most were just screwed in but I had to drill and install five of the stud types that go across the bottom of the windshield channel. I also worked on the windshield trim but I need the top passenger side piece as mine is bent and dinged in several places. I got my parts from PY but the rear window nylon rollers they sent me were wrong. I called them and they are sending the correct ones. I worked 4 hours and bought $385.04 worth of parts. That included new hydraulic cylinders for my top, nylon rollers for the quarter windows, rubber grommets for the top pump and the windshield trim clip kit. Here are the latest totals: My Labor at 420 hrs...................$8,400.00 Parts ......................................$9,916.52 Outside Labor ...........................$6,801.00 Gifts .......................................$1,559.87 Total .....................................$26,677.39

Man, another week of unbearable heat! And, no rain! I had a full week's work so I didn't get to the car.
I did get the correct nylon rollers from PY and hope to get the rear quarter glass put back in soon. Also, I am waiting to hear from my bodyman about bringing him the car. Hopefully in the next week or so. My plan is to have the top put on while it is at the body shop. That way, any scratches or chips can be fixed before it comes home.

Well, as some of you may have read in my other thread (Legendary Interiors) I sold my die cast collection and got a pretty nice chunk of change for it. And, I got to keep my Pontiacs.
I spent all my spare time getting everything together and then helped the buyer take it to his house. We made 5 pickup truck loads and I have a crew cab. we had boxes stuffed everywhere. Anyway, I plan on ordering the interior package this week. I talked with the guy who is going to paint mine and he said he would be finished with my friend's 57 Chevy in about two weeks. Then it's my turn. That will give me time to put the glass back in and do a few other things to it. Y'all have a good Father's Day.

I ordered my interior last Wednesday and it should be shipped the end of July. That should work out well with the paint shop. I don't know the exact total but it is around $1,940.00 with shipping.
I also won an auction for a set of re-chromed headlight bezels. I actually won them the middle of April but when I got them they were both for the passenger side. The seller runs a chrome shop in New York and he kept me up to date on the progress of the correct bezel. He re-did it two or three times before it was satisfactory. I got it yesterday and am well pleased with the pair. I installed the A-6 compressor and belt but still need to get the condenser, drier and lines. I worked on installing the rear quarter glass but couldn't get it right for some reason so I left it for now. I spent 4 hours and about $2,350.00 on the car this week. As soon as I get the exact amount on the interior I will update the totals.

Happy 4th to everyone. Hope you have fun and stay safe. I finally got the rear quarter glass installed. The adjusting screws were out of whack! When I got them close I left it alone. The body man can do the final adjusting.
It looks like the middle of the month before I can take the car to him. I don't know how long he will keep it but he told me in the beginning that he didn't give a completion date. And, as long as he has it I can be saving money up to finish it. Speaking of money, I spent a good bit of it recently. I bought the interior, headlight bezels and some small parts. Here are the latest totals: My labor @ 428 hrs...............$8,560.00 Parts ...............................$12,232.64 Outside labor ......................$6,801.00 Gifts .................................$1,559.87 Total ...............................$29,153.51

I had a nice long post typed out, then lightning struck somewhere and the cable went out so I lost that post.
I will be taking the car to paint in two weeks. Norman has to get the 64 GTO painted. I didn't get to work on it this week as I had a full schedule. I spent today unloading my 6x10 enclosed trailer of all my carpentry tools. Since I no longer do that I figured I would try to sell the trailer. I did get the carpet but sent it back. I requested the ACC brand and got Trim Parts instead. Y'all have a good week.

I bought a piece of trim from a fellow PYer but that is all I did this week. I worked 6 days so that should help with the money side.
I am waiting for samples from Legendary Interiors so I can choose the carpet color. I have to work Monday-Friday again this week but, I need to get the car ready for the trip to Columbus so I reckon I'll have to get everything boxed up after work. Y'all have a good week.
