Be nice to know for sure about the pit situation. At least they have the camp grounds close.

We are seriously leaning toward coming to this event but I have the same concerns/questions on the camping also. I don't want to have my RV in the campground with all my stuff and not have direct, easy access to the pits.

I may be going down this week too. I'll wear a Tri-Power Pontiac Nationals shirt from either last year or the year before... if ya see me, say hey. I'm a young strapping young feller... bout 6'0", 195lbs., dark hair. If ya see a fella with this description, and Jerry Garcia nearby, it's DEFINATELY me and my dad.

Any updated information on the pit situation?

Also, Anyone know if Beech Bend requires helmets on a high 13 second automatic car?

The track owner informed me yesterday that he would do his best to accommodate the racers that want to be in the pit area on Friday night. I expect detailed info will be available at the gate as to where drag racers can park in the pits on Friday night. Again, the campground (fee) and Reagan Field (free) are available and both inside the main gate.

At the main gate, you will purchase a tech card – this is admission for the racer and his/her car. All others will pay $15 per adult spectator fee. The fee covers both days – wristbands most likely will be issued. Your other option is convention registration – this gives you, your significant other and any minor children in your family free admission – in other words, you bypass paying the spectator fees – plus it gives convention credential holders a $5 discount to the amusement park. This option might be more economical for a family. You do not need to be a POCI member to participate in this event or to register for the POCI Convention.

When POCI originally scheduled the Convention for Bowling Green the drag day event was to be a one day (Saturday) race. Because there was a lot of interest, and, the popularity of the Beech Bend facility, we then added Friday (day) to the schedule. There is an early track close on Friday because of conflict with the previously scheduled Friday evening stock car race. We figured using these two days was better than one for the attendees.

As POCI moves into the future, we will look at additional options for multi-day drag events – your input as a participant is valuable to POCI.

Thanks for the update Dave. Really looking forward to the event. Hope the turn out is very good so we can mark this on our calendar for next year too.

Working on a serious bump steer issue on my car. Parts being over nighted from Alston. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the latest info, sounds like their trying to accomodate us racers. Picking up my tranny today, hopefully I'll be running this weekend. I'd hate to be just a spectator.

We're splitting the crowd this year unfortunately. Most will be in Bowling Green. 3 of us are taking the big bird to Portland for GTOAA. Sucks they are the same days. Good luck to you and the STAG racing team. I might have to wait for Norwalk to see the car I sponsored .

To everyone concerned about the Friday Night pit situation -

The Friday evening scheduled stock car race has been cancelled as per info received from the track this morning. This should relieve anyone's concerns regarding the pit situation.

Great news! Anyone know if they have electric in the pits or is that only in the campgrounds?
