I am going to be looking at a 67 Tempest in the next few days and am wondering if there is anything in particular I should look at and make sure isn't missing that is hard to find. The car is in pieces, has a rebuilt 326 and tranny. Says that there is some bondo in the body, so I will check that over very well. Any spots on the frame/floor braces that are prone to rot more than others? I am just looking for insight from guys that are familiar with these cars so when I look I have a good idea where to look so I don't miss something that I end up regretting later on down the road.

Back window, bottom two corners. Get in the trunk and look up with a flashlight. Those corners are known for major trouble/leaks/rust etc.

Check, floor on driver's side and rocker panels too. Actually, lift the carpet everywhere you can to ckeck all the floor.

Check the trunk pans, around rear wheel lip, bottom of back quarters, fore and aft and also the cowl area where the windshield and dash come together. Check these areas plus what was mentioned previously.

Check the frame real good, especially from the front bumper mounting area, back to the front crossmember. Look for thin metal behind the bumper bracket and stress cracks near the suspension. Also check the frame for rust in front of the rear wheels, where it goes up to clear the axle housing. Had problems in these areas with my 67 Chevelle from Tennessee.
