Price this 65?
I know I don't need it but that is a different topic.
Local car, 65 tempest, no motor or trans. Original 326 three on the column, unsure if pedals are still there. From the description it sounds like it has wrong year seats. It is a hardtop. Comes with new floorpans, needs one quarter done, everything else is said to be solid. I have not seen this myself but pictures are due in a few days, given this info what is a reasonable price to pay? |

Not much at all. Very expensive to restore a Tempest interior. You could go to a Lemans interior, but then you will have a restification. Since it needs the floor, a quarter, and an engine, it is on the other side of the line of being a parts car. I would feel comfortable at less than $1000. If the thought were to restore this car, I'm inclined to search for something that is in significantly better at 5 times the price.
Again, this is just my opinion. |

I'd agree with Andre at $1,000 max if rest of car is very solid. I picked up a 64 Lemans with motor and tranny that I drove home for $2500 and that's in Southern California. Outside of an emotional connection to the tempest, not much value even if fully restored. However, don't let it get crushed!
Just my humble opinion... |

For what it's woth I bought my 65 Lemans running driving bucket seat parts car which is 100% original and 95% rust free and complete for $1400. that was probably plenty even at that, but just the parts I know I need off it total more than that so I bought it.

I paid around 2400 for my 65 lemans and drove it 45 minutes home. The seller wants 1500 as is, or 2500 with a bbc. I just needed someone to talk me out of it, thanks.

Where were all these minimal rust 65 two doors when I needed one back in 06? You could always build a hotrod out of it, they are relatively light and easy to work on. I already have one to pick up downstate, but maybe I will hit you up about it later and see if its still there.
