Looks like a great project! Im doing almost the same with a 69 LeMans I just got! Seems like you are just a couple years younger than I am so I feel your pain trying to get a car done while going through college, getting married, etc. I just finished my 72 "GTO" that I was restoring since 2002 in 2010 and now tore it back down to turn it back into a LeMans. Its alot of work, but its worth it once its all done! Good luck!

I bought my first project car (67 FB) about a year after I graduated, and by that time I was married and with kids too. I got it finished within a few years, so it can be done.

Thinking back to those days, I was young and very inexperienced, working out of books and magazines with the advice of the few Pontiac guys I found around town. Way before the internet. Amazing what I took on and accomplished back then. Ended up with a car that was in "local show" condition and would run 13's, and it was a reliable daily driver.

Your tail lenses and wheels really look great, just keep on doing what you are doing and you will get there. And congrats on finishing up college! Based on my experience it should definitely help with funding this sort of project.

This friday I finally got my body up on a new lift. You can track my real time progress on my blog. It keeps me motivated having something to write and knowing people are watching.

Anyway, I thought I'd post up a few more pictures of the progress I've made over the past few years. Once I finished stripping the frame, I needed to get the rear-end rebuilt. There are a few things I am afraid of when it comes to cars, and properly setting up a differential is one of them, luckily my neighbor was a Pontiac mechanic at a dealer in the late 60's early 70's. I wanted him to help me build it up, but he did it one day without me while I was at school. No harm done; just wish I coulda been there for the experience. I sandblasted the housing, and pulled the innards and axles out. My neighbor replaced them with some 3.55 gears from Richmond and an Auburn posi-traction unit. Axles looked like they were in fine condition (and I'm not interested in spending money where it doesn't need to be spent), so they were re-installed. Oh, and I had all the new seals put in and the backing plates repainted at the same time. Pictures below.
