Default '68 Firebird 400 4-spd cpe project car

1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 4-speed Coupe project car

*documented California car—have copy of Calif title and orig Calif plates
*(now has Virginia title)
*orig colors: Solar Red w/ Parchment int.
*genuine 400 car, not a “clone”
*all bodywork and paint prep done on entire f clip, doors, deck lid—stripped, metal prepped, primed in PPG 2-K primer--body shell in excellent cond
*surface rust only on floors—need sandblast and prime in red oxide
*bumpers rechromed by “Bumper Boys” in Calif.
*quarters, floors etc.: SOLID—NO rust-thru, surface rust only.
*upper dash pnl rusted @ lower edge of w/s—have new upper dash pnl to install.
*have orig. 400 hood, drilled for hood tach, AND new Goodmark hood.
*car now has orig 14” x 6” Rally II whls—correct date code—good trim rings, ctr caps, lug nuts—a set of later 15” x 7” Rally II’s go with the car
*have complete take-off parts to install OE P/S
*have complete take-off parts (cores) to install single-piston power disc brakes

ENGINE: *from 1969 Firebird 400 built in Van Nuys plant
*bored .060” over, crank is Pontiac nodular iron ground .010”& .010”
*Pistons: TRW (Speed Pro) forged, dished to achieve 9.5:1 compression (from Butler Perf)-engine will now run on what passes for gasoline--rings: file-fit
*rods: SCAT “H”-beam forged
*heads: Pontiac #16—hardened valve seats—iron guides—Ferrea 1-piece SS valves—heads: “virgin”, perfectly true, req’d no milling—
*valve train: Comp Cams “Extreme Energy” H 268 “K-kit”, w/ matched springs, lifters, roller chain, etc—Harland Sharpe 1.5:1 alum roller rockers.
*all machine work done by Tyson’s machine—rotating assy (inc flywheel) balanced—have all receipts.

TRANS: *Muncie M-20—matching #--looks and is like new—rebuilt by Clyde Vick—former Corvette mech. @ Rosenthal Chev, does trans’s for Corvette Club.
*ORIG factory Hurst shifter—rebuilt by Mr. Gasket (now owns Hurst)

*INTERIOR:*car has complete interior, will need all upholstery, trim pnls, headliner, etc.
*ORIGINAL RALLY GAUGE CLUSTER
*Delco AM radio

*this car is an unmolested, California , 400, 4-speed car
*car is at least 60% done
*this was a complete, running car when I pulled it into my garage 12 years ago, everything is there—everything has been stored inside since then..
