Very, VERY interesting about the wheels, Gary. As you can see from the attached files from my 1972 Dealer Order Album, Rally II wheels were standard equipment on all 1972 LeMans GTs. Only upgrade from there would be Honeys. If one ordered the G60 tire option then of course the Rally II wheels (or the Honeys) would have been 15" as well. FYI - the LeMans "Sport" option package included buckets, console and some trim items. Not really much of anything mechanical. You mention having a Pontiac invoice, any chance of a build sheet lurking about. I'd love to have a copy of either or both if you're so inclined. Have a great weekend, all!

Very nice Boss, her best attribute is of course the color of her complexion. She also has a big rear end that will hold a really BIG cooler...

Thanks guys - very excited here as well!
As for price - I paid quite a bit more than the $4,600 sticker, but I'm pretty sure I stole it just the same. There was no negotiations - I just said yes & that was it! It did help that I had just sold my Voodoo RA I/Auto and my Sundance WW5 a week earlier - although they hadn't been paid for yet, that's what took all the time. Lloyd & Craig - there will be no coolers on the wing!

Lloyd, I don't think the 15" wheels were an option for the LeMans in 72 - GTO only I believe. Although mine has the 15" honeys on it now - it is coming with a set of NOS 14" honeys w/trims & centers in the boxes. I'll have to pick up a set of Wide Ovals for those.

btw, does the instrumentation pkg include the U35 Rally clock? I thought I saw an adjuster knob in the dash pic. After rereading your post it occurs to me you're probably talking about '72 convertibles. Sorry.

Very, very nice find Chris, what a car!!! How did you hear about her...on the grapevine, or advertised somewhere?
Lucerne blue just seems like the right colour for these bodies...love it. Oh, if it isn't too perverted, anychance of some pics of you and her when you get her settled in? Maybe a video even? |

Drew, it does have a clock in with the gauge package but shows the guage w/tach on the PHS. I can only assume that got changed/added when the hood tach went on. I'm hoping there is something in the documentation which will support that. I think you are right too that the Y-99 was available on the D27 & D37 but not on the D67 models - mine has the Y-96 setup on it so would have come with the 14" honeys.
Steve - My buddy Brian introduced us - the owner had some NOS honeycomb centers on E-Bay and he e-mailed him about some other parts, spoke to him on the phone and discovered he had this car and was thinking of selling it because he never drove it. I had one conversation with the guy and the deal was done - a week later Brian was in the area on business and went over and did a full inspection for me to confirm it was numbers matching & in good condition - even gave the guy a deposit for me! He went above & beyond without question! You can be sure there will be pictures & a video or two of her doing a little stretching.

Boss.......this car is truly a once in a lifetime find! Rare, matching number desirable car with paperwork. You can't ask for more than that. I can't wait to find out the story on this car after you dig deeper into the paper work.
Winter is right around the corner from you. So why don't you send your girlfriend down south to Texas for some vacationing during the winter months. I will be glad to take her around and show her the sights. |

Just saw this thread now Chris. Not even a word about it at Norwalk either. I have known about that car for years. I have had the PHS since then. It was bought out of Hemmings a number of years back by Pat in Florida. I am sure that is who you bought it from? He and I have spoken about it over the years but he was never real interested in selling it. In fact, I called Pat right before pulling the trigger on mine to see if he wanted to sell it. He was not so I grabbed the other Lucy Blue, white, white, 4 Speed. I do know some history on yours and I have a copy of a previous title (somewhere??) when it went through a couple of muscle car dealers out in Florida years ago. Cool car for a stripper!

I'll let you know how it goes - we'll see if she likes it a little on the rough side. Book a flight for this weekend Gary - she catches the bus tomorrow!
