You can bet that 400/427 block Ken built (bored +.130) was filled almost completely with block filler with very little if any water going through it.

Did he use a 4 inch stroke to come up with that size?

4.25" bore X 3.75" stroke makes a 425.6 cube Pontiac engine.
A Chevy 427 is 4.25" X 3.76" for 426.7 cubes. With a 4" stroke you'd end up with a 454 (Chevy). |

Actualy guys it's 4.230 X 3.750 comes to 421 cubes(ironicly). Thats the motor in my race car that is for sale in the "for sale" section. And it started of as a 4.120 bore 400 block. So I am .110 over.
The 4.25 bore X 4 stroke = 454 ci I am putting in the for sale section. It's my Dads old motor. The one that did 10.06 at Pomona through mufflers and weighing well over 3500 Lbs with me in it. Ace
