I just replaced my open carrier with a factory posi unit. The problem im having is axle shafts won't slide back in all the way. Do the posi units take a different axle shaft than a non posi? Any help Would be greatly appreciated thanks

No, the axle shafts were the same for Safe-T-Track or open rearends. Length depends on the housing, not the carrier.
I seem to remember there was interference where the ends of the axles fit into the area where the springs push against the cones. Did you check to see that the axle spline matches the spline inside the side gears?

Also, always assemble the posi halves with shafts mounted so the cones and gears are aligned.
