I am new to the forum and have searched for the correct placement dimensions for the rear quarter decals for my 72. I found threads concerning 1970s but not for a 72. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Let me be the first here to welcome you to the PY forums.
I don't have the measurements right at hand, but here are a couple of pics. Make sure that you source the correct deck lid "GTO" decal, as it's smaller than the quarter panel decal. Hope these help!

Thx Lloyd - these pics will get me in the ballpark. The trunklid decal I have is smaller than the one's that go on the quarters, but not by much. Now I am wishing I had taken some of those valuable pre-resto pics to reference things like this. Live and learn, I guess.

Nice job on the 72 resto! Welcome aboard too. Glad to see you get those splitters in their place as well. Decals will be cake...

By the way, there are a couple of guys in Tulsa that might be able to offer some local help.
Steve Hoog (steved400 here on PY) and Gary Daniels (muscle_collector here on PY) both live in Tulsa and should be able to point you in the right direction. Send either or both of them a PM and they should be happy to help out.

Thanks Judge - gotta put the splitters where they belong!!
Thanks for the heads-up on the contacts, Lloyd. I recognize one of those names, went to school with his brother. Didn't realize Gary is still here in Tulsa. I will have to try and get in touch with him, as I know his history and knowledge of Pontiacs is vast!! |

Gary has a couple GTOs stashed away. I'm sure at least one or two will have original paint and be good to take measurements from.

Though an hour and a half away in Edmond, Roger ('ol Pinion head here on PY) would be a fantastic resource as well. VERY knowledgeable on all things '70-'72 GTO . . .

You know, Mike, I really didn't until I spotted the standard chromed outside mirror. Not many still running those . . .
Dunno if it's these meds I'm on, or old age, or what. Prolly all the above! ![]() ![]()
