I did not find the info I was wanting. I am wanting to replace the Formula hood that is on my car for a 69 T/A hood. I (well my body man) was NHOT happy with the VFN hood that is on the car right now. I see that some have used Glasstek, but I am wanting a quality piece. what do ya'll recommend?
thanx, Steve T.

I have the repo steel T/A hood on my bird.VERY close buy not exact to a factory hood. They can be bought for arond $600 on ebay.I got mine when they first came out and were around $1200.For a non T/A car much better than the 5000 to 10000 for a real one.JMO,Tom

Yet to see a 1st gen glass hood that is straight or have same dimensions as originals.
There was a guy here that made a carbon fiber from an original about a year or so ago. Dont remember who, but looked awlsome. Did alot of other stuff too. A seacrh for cabon fiber 69 TA hood may find it.

Unlike most posters who know everthing there is to know about every car ever made, I don't know everthing there is to know about Firebirds, let alone every car ever made. So forgive me if I'm wrong.
If you have a first generation Firebird, I didn't know that they offered it as a Formula. If it's a second, or newer, generation Firebird, I didn't know that 69 ta hood would fit a second, or later, generation car. If you hare harvesting your information from your bodyman, he . . . . Well, it's time for me to bail. |

Think'g he means a "400" hood vs a "TA" hood.
John Haley is the guys name. Been longer then realized. He did had a TA hood for sale while back. Hears the original thread. Looks like awesome work. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=591863
