I bought a radiator support (PY RPE68). While waiting for the motor to be rebuilt, thought I would remove old radiator support. (which was rusted out bad) Found one problem, my old radiator support is 19-5/8" tall and the PY one is 19". (I tried to install fan shroud on new radiator support and radiator support is to short. Got tape measure out and checked height of radiator support between original and PY). Can anyone tell me if this is a normal problem with this replacement part? Problem I see already is New Radiator Support is at least 1/2" shorter than old part and if I install knowing this when I try to install fender bolts (the two on top) going to have so many shims and afraid of this piece will not work. Also don't want to force shroud into place it will bust it. Would like to know if any one else has ran into this problem?

I emailed 3 customers who purchased this part (and other 1970 parts) to see how it fit with them. Mike S here tested this part, but he is on vacation this week, but will be back Monday if we don't here anything before hand.

The rear edge of the core support is is welded at a bad angle. it requires drilling out 6 or 8 spot welds that hold the top of the new support to the uprights, repositioning the top about a quarter inch higher than were the repops are welded from the factory. This 1/4" translates into close to a half inch at the rear edge.
It's not a big deal. It's also not PY's issue, they are selling the same chinese part that everyone else is. It takes about ten minutes to fix. We have installed dozens of these supports, I consider them a nice piece.
