PCV install question
I picked up a new PCV valve and grommet for my 69 gto. the PCV valve has different sized nipples on either end (looks like a 3/8 and maybe 1/2) . does the bigger end go into the grommet? If so it looks like it is going to be a PITFA to get it installed in the new grommet. Did I get the wrong grommet or valve? or are they just that tight of a fit? this is on a new build so I did not have a old one to look at. Sorry for the basic question, and thanks for the help. i tried searching, and gave up after page 8.

I got one from NAPA a while back, and I believe I remember that I had to make the hole in the grommet bigger to fit the PCV valve. I used a round rasp I had for woodworking.
The large end goes down, small end to the hose. Charles |

If we're talking about the Valley Pan PCV Grommet, I did this last month. Very tight. I used some silicone lube.

You want it to be tight and seal properly as engine vacuum pulls crankcase vapors into the intake manifold using the PCV valve internal strategy. Any leaks will cause higher idle and improper crankcase evacuation.
A Good silicone lube helps the installation a lot but it will still be a tight fit, as it should be. Tom Vaught
